Salespeople need to be able to edit their Schedule Requests but not Requests from other Salespeople. Schedulers need to be able to create and edit Schedules and convert Requests into Schedules. Administrators usually have additional rights that allow them to edit Mechanics and User rights. With over a dozen different rights, you have complete control over each user. HistoryWhen changes are made to schedule information, an entry is made in a history log. This is useful in allowing you to find out who changed a schedule when and why. Being able to track changes to a job back to when it was initially placed on the schedule board is a valuable when talking to a customer or Mechanic. Use a wizard to quickly design a Layout View to organize the results in the way you want to see them. Reports also allow you to drill-down on a result line and open an edit form for the selected schedule. Display FormatsDisplay formats are used throughout WinSched to define how schedule information is displayed. Use conditional Display Formats to show special colors or formats when special conditions exist. You can quickly switch between display formats to view your data differently. You may want to view your schedule board by Job Number and Hours initially, and Location to view which jobs are close to each other. Schedule BoardsThe Schedule Board is the main tool in WinSched. It provides an efficient view of your scheduling information. For more specifics on the Schedule Board, click here. CalendarsA traditional calendar view is an alternative way to view your data. While not as efficient as the Schedule Board, people are often more comforatable viewing information on a calendar. You can quickly open a calendar for a single Mechanic or for all schedules with a simple click of the mouse. For more details on the Calendar view, click here. Auto Scheduling and Overscheduling RulesWhen you have a crowded schedule board, finding a free slot for a new job can be time consuming. The Auto Scheduling tool helps you quickly find the earliest slot for each of your Mechanics taking into account how many hours each Mechanic works each day. Overscheduling Rules, when enabled, help you assure that users can't schedule more jobs than there are Mechanics available. This rule coupled with the Auto Scheduler, greatly reduces the time and effort required to schedule your jobs. Maps and DirectionsThe first thing Mechanics need to know when they get their schedules is a map or directions to the job. WinSched handles this easily by allowing you to click a link on an edit form and the map is displayed in a new window. Depending on your installation, the address used for the map may come from your schedule information or linked invoice information. |
